Join me and Karen from Artemis Alpacas for a day immersing yourself in all things alpaca
We will start in the morning meeting the alpacas and then a walk with the alpacas (weather permitting - we might swap this until the afternoon if there is torrential rain
Then we will have a talk by Karen about the nutrition and health of the animals and how this affects their fleece. We will have a look at the fleeces from the animals we've walked and Karen will show you how to grade the fleeces - a really important skill if you're hoping to buy from shows etc
We will stop for lunch and then in the afternoon I will give some tips on how to wash and then spin your alpaca fibre. Then we will have a spin along in the afternoon and you will have a chance to buy the fleeces - perhaps the one you've walked.
Lunch is provided so please let us know any dietary requirements when you book
The day will be held at the farm in Halewood on the outskirts of Liverpool
