Two Day Sheep to Skein Workshop
new dates for 2027 tbcJoin us for two days of spinning fibre into yarn in the in my new studio in Melling, just five minutes from junction 1 on the M58Complete Beginners are welcome, with or without your own wheel.
On Day 1:
- Washing a fleece
- Prepping fleece with a wool picker
- Carding fleece using hand carders and also using a drum carder
- Combing fleece using wool combs
- Discussing different sheep fibres and the effect they will have on your spinning
- Mastering drafting and treadling
On Day 2:
- Refining your technique
- Plying your singles
- Finishing your work and how to move forward
Classes are kept small so that you can have all the support you need to master this skill.
About the Venue
We will provide teas and coffees throughout the day, lunch is not included ย You are welcome to bring a packed lunch

The two day course was jammed packed with information and guidance, very good value for money. Cathy certainly has a wealth of knowledge on fibres and her craft. Her approach was friendly, knowledgeable and inspiring. I required quite a bit of support when learning to spin, her patience and support was amazing.
