Why do I need to know about worsted or woollen spinning?

As a spinner, we want to make informed choices about the fibre we spin with and the method of spinning we use so that we can spin the best yarn we can. Knowledge is key and learning together is a great way to spark inspiration.

We start at 10am and spin until 4. Lunch is not included but there is a cafe or you’re welcome to bring a packed lunch

I had a great day with Cathy on this course. I now understand the various techniques, the difference each makes and the value of using one over another in respect of warmth, drape, definition and so on. I’m not proficient yet but that’s just practice. I even got some help with my plying which can be a bit ropey. The best bit was being able to talk to another wooly being after being in purdah for so long. Highly recommended. Thanks Cathy
